He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Ellison and Ora Ellison (Dokken); his former wife LeNae Ellison; his brothers, Darrel and Larry Ellison; his grandson Tyler Krisle; his daughter-in-law Susie Ellison; his great grandchild Owen Ellison; his nephew Gary Ellison; his sister-in-law Erna Ellison (Toots); his stepgranddaughter Heather Scotson; his siblings-in-law, Georgia Reppen, Beverly Gleason, Neil Christofferson and Eugene Gleason; his stepson-in-law Pat Roberts (Step); his nephews, Randy Gleason and Bernel Christofferson; and his niece Raeanne Workman.
He is survived by: his wife Edna; his brother Dean Ellison (Lila); his sister-in-law Connie Ellison; his children, Carlie Ellison (Paulette) of Lemmon, SD, Julie Lockert (Tom) of Bowman, ND, Becky Brooks (Ryan) of Bowman, ND, Jeffrey Ellison of Lemmon, SD, Shelly Krisle (Troy) and Lynnette Stugelmeyer (Troy) of Buffalo, SD; and his grandchildren, Eric Hulm (Melinda), Macee Wilbur (Jeff), Seth Lockert (Ashley), Stephanie Thiede (Tyler), Alicia Hess (Nathan), Mariah Kruger (Mark), Samantha Ellison and Tanner Krisle (Adisen).
Before Mitchel got Covid at the age of 88 he was still working on the ranch and still climbing grain bins with his cowboys boots on.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
