He is survived by: his son Todd Messmer; his grandsons, Jozef Messmer of Lemmon, SD, Mike Canton of Lead, SD and Tristan Canton of Lead, SD.; and his siblings, Linda Borchert of Lemmon, SD, Larry Messmer of Belle Fourche, SD, Lori Herold (John) of Bismarck, ND and Jayne Rieth of West Fargo, ND.
