Though Helen may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Helen touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles E. Anderson and Myrtle Anderson (Galegher). She is survived by: her husband Leslie Austin; her daughters, Joyce Mitchell (David) of Mesa Az and VeRene Potter of Gillette Wy; her grandsons, Preston Hochhalter (Lindsay) of Mesa Az, Grant Austin Gilette Wy and Somar Austin Dickenson N. D.; her great grandchildren, Paige Hochhalter Mesa and Gabe Austin Gillette Wy; and her sisters-in-law, Janice Speiser of Billlings Mt and Sharon Austin of Rochester Mn. She is also survived by Numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Prince of Peace Chapel of the Evanson Jensen Funeral Home Lemmon (501 7th Ave W, Lemmon, SD 57638).

“I was saddened to hear that Helen is no longer with us. She and I spent many hours reminiscing about years gone by and she would tell me all her old friends have gone…..I would so have liked to have spent more time with her before we moved but time didn’t allow it. When she moved into the nursing home , she said this as her last move. I will miss her but look forward to seeing her again in her home in heaven.
