He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Merriman and Edith Merriman (Thorpe); his wife Frances; his siblings, Darreld, Arthur, Florence, Russell, Glen and Lucille Lutz; his son-in-law Ken Smart; and his great grandchild Kirra O'Connor.
He is survived by: his grandchild Quack Quack; his children, John (Brenda), Richard (Sari), Claudia Merriman of Lemmon, SD and Nancy Smart (Ken) of Brooklyn Park, MN.; and his siblings, Marvelyn Braaten, Pryor of Oklahoma, Elizabeth Wacker of Bowman, ND and Roger of Spearfish, SD.. He is also survived by 9 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren, and 2 Great Great Grandchildren.
