We bid farewell to Maria Edemia Herbert of Lead, South Dakota, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on November 11, 2024 at the age of 93. Maria Edemia touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Celso Valerio and Esther Valerio (Mondragon); her husband William Arthur Herbert Sr. (Art); her siblings, Pat Valerio, Claudia Valerio and Aurora Valerio; her grandson Mason Herbert; her son-in-law John Rhodes; and her godson Ryan Folks.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Rhodes, Suzanne Staggs (Stoney), Michael, William Jr. (Marie), James, Lawrence (Natalie) and Paul Herbert (Stephanie); and her sister-in-law Vicky Valerio. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Patrick Catholic Church (141 Siever St, Lead, SD 57754). A burial was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 at 1:30 PM at the Black Hills National Cemetery (20901 Pleasant Valley Dr, Sturgis, SD 57785).
