It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Larry Gene Hovis of Lead, South Dakota, born in Olathe, Colorado, who passed away on July 24, 2022, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Eddy Hovis and Effie Hovis (Barrett); and his brother Gary Hovis. He is survived by: his wife Mary Schmalz; his children, Kelly (Jolene), Eddy, Kristen (Nate) and Ashley (Jeff); his grandchildren, Jesse (Lexie), Josh (Kayla), Dena (Chris), Noah (Baylee), Cody, Kyle, Teyara, Zoey, Colton, Jericho, Lucas, Jarrett and Jonathan; and his great grandchildren, Hayden of Ryah, TJ, Ryker and Iloh.
