It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Javier Torres of Lead, South Dakota, who passed away on November 4, 2024, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his daughter Christina Torres; his grandson Christopher Capps; his parents, Delores Torres and Candido Torres; and his siblings, Ted, Gonzalo, Jase, Candido Torres and Connie Torres.
He is survived by: his wife Arvella; his sisters, Maggie Atkinson, Mary Hogan, Evangeline McClaren and Eleanor Ribordy; his daughters, Angela Young and Jaylene Capps (Jerry Capps); and his granddaughters, Megan Snow and Olivia McQueen (Jaydon McQueen).
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. Patrick Catholic Church (141 Siever St, Lead, SD 57754). A rosary was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 1:30 PM at the Black Hills National Cemetery (20901 Pleasant Valley Dr, Sturgis, SD 57785).
