He was predeceased by: his parents, Anton Strande and Hilda Strande (Olson); his wife Dorothy Carlson; and his siblings, Lorraine Nelson, Darlene Nelson, Aubrey Strande, Caryl Gulbranson, Milton Strande, Lonnie Strande and Gaye Dykstra.
He is survived by: his children, Steven (Shelley) of Lake Preston, SD, Michael of Lake Preston, Karen Schilling (Dave) of Bruce, SD, Julie Strande-Pirlet (Reid) of Lake Preston, SD and Cindy Strande-Butler (James) of Aurora, SD. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
