He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolph Nelson and Hazel Nelson (Ambur); and his spouse Barbara Story. He is survived by: his daughter Pam Oines (Tim) of Lake Poinsett; his granddaughters, Katie Lamb (Patrick) of Fargo and Kasey Oines (Jared Ludwig) of Duluth, MN; and his great grandchildren, Lillian and William Lamb of Fargo.
