He was predeceased by: his parents, James W. Haney, Sr. and Shirley Haney (DeLong); his son Wayne; and his father-in-law Otto. He is survived by: his wife Rita of Rapid City; his children, Lyle Haney (Robin) of Burke and Tammy Huether (Scott) of Interior; his grandsons, Cody and Dylan Huether; his stepgrandchildren, Torrey and Trevor Larson; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Allura, Waylon and Graham. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
