We bid farewell to Shirley Chmela of Kimball, South Dakota, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on December 16, 2024 at the age of 89. Shirley touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Schlepuetz and Anna Schlepuetz (Blasius); her husband Merlin Chmela; and her siblings, Herb, Wilfred "Bud", Leonard Schlepuetz, Geneva Miner and Lucille Kubik.

She is survived by: her children, Dan Chmela (Mary), Diana McGregor (Kelly) and Nancy Munger (Norman); and her great grandchildren, Marissa (Nick), Miller, Amanda (Andrew), Wixon, Lucas Chmela (Paige), Brandi (John), Jason (Robin), McGregor, Kyle (Caitlyn), Jennifer Munger, Jessamy Truman and Natalie Munger.

Visitation was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the St Margaret's Catholic Church (417 S Elm St, Kimball, SD 57355). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the St Margaret's Catholic Cemetery (417 S Elm St, Kimball, SD 57355).
