He was predeceased by: his parents, Alden Hempel and Jeanette Hempel (Hodge); his siblings, Sherry, Joyce, Mike, Lee, Clifford, Punky and Rick; his sister-in-law Gloria; and his great-nephew Kilian Hempel.
He is survived by: his pets, Jack and Opie; and his siblings, Dawn Hempel of Mitchell, Connie Beaulieu of Minnesota and Perry Hempel of Kimball. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Bittner Funeral Chapel (805 W Havens Ave, Mitchell, SD 57301). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Kimball Protestant Parish (301 S Babcock St, Kimball, SD 57355).
