He was predeceased by: his mother Margaret Wingert (Heidenreich); his wife Darlene Estella Baker; his father John E., Sr.; his siblings, Lillian Husman, Margaret Williams, Leonella MacLeod, Cecelia Wingert, Raymond Wingert, Leon Wingert, Baby Wingert, Eugene Wingert and Alvern Wingert; and his parents-in-law, Charles and Cora Baker (Kopke).

He is survived by: his children, Jerry Wingert (Joanne), Diane Babl (Larry), Marvin Wingert (Donna), Raymond Wingert (Leslie), Terry Wingert (Kat), Wyane Wingert, Ronnie Wingert (Rose), Dennis Wingert (Cindy), Corey Wingert, David Wingert (Janene) and Kerry Wingert (Renae); and his brother Virgil Wingert (Phyllis).
