He was predeceased by: his parents, Dick Dale and Lucille Dale; his son Rich; and his grandparents, Harry, Marian Cherry, John, Eva Dale and Bat.

He is survived by: his former wife Linda Lane; his daughter Lisa; his wife Bonnie Simonson; his son-in-law Kim Willman; his stepdaughter Suzie (Ross Wahlgren) of Gothenburg, Neb.; his grandchildren, Daryn, Kamryn, Lauryn Willman, Casey, Grant, Reid and Seth Wahlgren; his sisters, Lynne Mooney, Linda Dale and Bonnie Dale; his sister Carmen Kime; his granddaughters, Drew Kime Hoefer and McKenna Kime Beckman; his pet Chase; and also Dallas. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
