He was predeceased by: his mother Florence Halvorson (Hall); his son Duane (Patricia); his parent Helge Sr. Halvorson; his siblings, Harold (Lucille) and Olava Freeburg (Ward); his brothers-in-law, John Nelson and Clarence Torczon; and his sister Helen.
He is survived by: his son Jerry; his wife Roma; his daughter Judy Walker (Jerry) of San Antonio, TX; his granddaughter Jeanne Rizzo (Jimmy); his children, Grayson Levy of Honolulu, Remy Levy, Ashlyn Rizzo of LaVernia, TX and Heather Walker of Dallas, TX; his grandson Zachary of Tulsa, OK; his daughter Sally Wischmann (Mike); his grandchildren, Benjamin, Lucas and Ellison of Cumming, GA; his children, Jill Frederick (Jeff), Henry, Harrison, Evelyn, Theodore of Omaha, NE, Erik (Alecia), Kacie, Korbin of Brandon, SD, Tim (Abby), Harper, Willow, Reese of Beresford, SD, Nick (Ashley), Noah, Griffin, Amelia of Beresford, SD, Dylan of Sioux Falls, SD, Kimberly Davis (Josh), Cora, Collin, Collette of Jenks, OK, Valerie Horton (Terry), Liam, Vivienne of Edmond, OK, Lori Lambert (Andy), Rebecca, Andrew Montoya of Atlanta, GA and Natalie Montoya of Cambridge, MA.; his siblings, Miriam Nelson of Viborg, Bonnie Torczon of Columbus, NE and Helge Jr. (Patty) of Yankton, SD; and his son Jay Jensen (Becky) of Irene, SD. He is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.
Due to the pandemic, a funeral service for immediate family only will be held at Hansen Funeral Home, Irene, SD at 11am Saturday January 9, followed by internment at Riverview Cemetery, Centerville, SD at 12:15pm with graveside military honors provided by American Legion Gingrich-Dixon Post 13 of Wakonda, of which he was a member.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Wakonda American Legion, Riverview Cemetery Association of Centerville, SD, or Abbott House in Mitchell, SD.
