She was predeceased by: her father John McManus; her husband Morris Petersen of Irene, SD; her son Kim Petersen; her mother Bessie McManus (Bessie Smith); her sisters, Maureen Regan and Karen Kittelson; and her stepgrandson Rick Nelson.

She is survived by: her former spouse LuVerne Nelson; her daughters, Marsha Skogen (Gary) of Irene, SD, Melanie Stein (Fred Bolland) and Lisa Bruns (Mike) of Brandon, SD; her stepson Jerry Nelson (Lee) of Sioux Falls, SD; her grandchildren, Justin Skogen (Sarah) of Sioux Falls, SD, Seth Skogen (Jennifer) of Brookings, SD, Aaron Petersen (Sherrie) of Beresford, SD, Adam Petersen (Alison) of Madison, WI, Nathan Petersen (Mandy) of Sioux Falls, SD, Brett Stein (Ashley) of Rochester, MN, Christopher Bruns (Jayden) of Sioux Falls, SD and Katie Schroeder (Shaine) of Sioux Falls, SD; her stepgrandson Ron Nelson of Minneapolis, MN; her sister Ursula Fendrich (George) of Sioux Falls, SD; and her sister-in-law Audrey Jensen of Brandon, SD.. She is also survived by Seventeen great grandchildren.

Due to the pandemic, a private family service will be held at a later date.
