He was predeceased by: his parents, Sigvard Richelieu and Naomi Richelieu (Christiansen); his brother-in-law Webster Fiedler; and his aunts and uncles, Sverre Richelieu, Walter Christiansen, William Christiansen, Anna Richelieu and Nancy Christiansen.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Nieman of Irene; his children, John of Irene, Alan (Cassie) of Irene, Carol Richelieu of Sioux Falls and Sharon Richelieu of Sioux Falls; his grandchildren, Willa, Clara, Isla and Freelan Richelieu; his sister Gloria Fiedler of Davenport, Iowa; his brother-in-law Roger Nieman (Monica) of Omaha; his nephews, Curtis Fiedler of Minneapolis, Terry Fiedler of Sioux City, Nathan Nieman of Omaha and Joshua Nieman of Omaha; and his niece Peggy Parfenoff (Eric) of Chicago.
