It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vernon Ray Bastian of Ipswich, South Dakota, born in Aberdeen, South Dakota, who passed away on October 29, 2022, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Andreas Bastian and Erna Bastian (Vietzke) of Ipswich, SD.; his wife Jean; and his siblings, Gerald (Marlys) of Mankato and Ilene Sorenson (Glen) of Arco. He was also cherished by 10 nieces and nephews, 17 great nieces and nephews and two great-great nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Lutheran Church Scholarship program or a charity of your choice.
