She was predeceased by: her parents, Peter Knapp and Johanna Knapp (DeFries); her husband Carl Leo Thrash; her son Howard Thrash; and her siblings, Marion, Evelyn, Elsie, Ardyce, Lawrence and Austie.
She is survived by: her former spouse Thomas Allen; her stepchild Viv; her children, Doug Thrash (Abbie) of Rapid City, Susan Thrash (Joe) of Minneapolis, Joanne Phelan (Ray) of Buffalo Grove, IL, Pete Thrash (Yvette) of Aberdeen and Paul Thrash (Brenda) of Elkhart, IN; and her stepchildren, Martie Wineger (Larry) of Arizona and Thomas Allen, Jr. (Toni) of Florida. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made in Vivian's name to the Christian Learning Center in Huron.
