He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Claus and Edna Jager (Garbe); his wife Jackie; and his siblings, Arthur Jager and Delores Weeldreyer.
He is survived by: his children, Timothy Jager (Tammy) of Red Lodge and Tracy Meikle (Steven) of Watertown, SD; and his grandchildren, Jeremy Jager of Billings, Jessica Jager of Red Lodge, Andrew Jager of Denver, Lauren Meikle (Brad Bunde) of Florence and Lindsey Meikle of Sioux Falls. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
