He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Ransom and Elsie Ransom (Quiram); his sons, Jude and David; his brothers, Laverne, Jimmy and Jerry; and his son-in-law John Rich.
He is survived by: his spouse Jackie Kirby; and his children, Kim Knutson of Huron, Vaughn Ransom of Wessington Springs, Paulette Wehrmann (Twigg) of Huron and Connie Rich of Huron. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and eighteen great-great-grandchildren.
