He was predeceased by: his parents, John Giessinger and Regina Giessinger (Lesmeister); his wife Nancy Giessinger; and his siblings, Leo Giessinger, Marie Trandall, Margaret Schmidt and Richarda Munson.

He is survived by: his son Jason Giessinger (Cindy) of Bloomington, Illinois; and his grandsons, Sam, Ben and Will. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
