She was predeceased by: her parents, Daniel Hilton and Bertha Hilton (Haack); her sons, Daniel, Donald, George and Leo; and her husband Leo Nelson.

She is survived by: her children, James Kivimaki (Penny Pernu) of Virginia, MN, Sharon Nelson (Richard Lyon) of Huron and Tim Nelson (Brenda Knouse) of Huron.
