He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy Harkness and Lucille Harkness (Knecht); and his brothers, Ray Henke and Danny Harkness. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Hoffmann; his children, Denyce Campbell (Wade) of Arlington, SD and Kevin Harkness (Monica) of La Crosse, WI; his grandchildren, Vashti Mejia, Amber Boden, Brody Harkness and Claudia Campbell; his great grandchildren, Geneviev Mejia and Baby Girl Harkness; his siblings, Dale Harkness (Carolyn) of Elk Point, Dallas Harkness of Sioux Falls, Dean Harkness of Yankton and Joanne Marshall of Menomonie, WI.; his siblings-in-law, John Hoffmann (Shelly) of Wessington and Barb Haberling (Roger) of Miller; and his mother-in-law Dee Buckland of Huron.
