She was predeceased by: her parents, Hiram Austin and Mary Irene Stam (Cox); her husband John Manley Ames; her daughter Elizabeth Darleen Richeson; her son-in-law Robert "Bob" Warren Richeson; her son Thomas Manley Ames; and her sisters, Juanita Lueth and Shirleen King.
She is survived by: her sister Shirleen May; her children, Jill Marie Minske (Kevin) of Huron and Martin John Ames of Huron; her daughter-in-law Debra Ames of Huron; her sister Roseann Crenshaw of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; her granddaughters, Marissa Taylor Ames Minske of Huron and Ashley Elizabeth Richeson of Raton; and her great grandchildren, Dylan Avery Davis and Carter Robert Davis of Raton.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to the Beadle County Humane Society, 5063 Dakota Ave S, Huron, SD 57350 in honor of Darleen's love of all creatures, great and small.
