He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Dean and Patricia Jean Royal (Hurst); his stepparents, Marvin Royal (Peggy) and Patricia Raether (Leander); his brother Monty; his brother-in-law Bob Bentz; his mother-in-law Carolyn Peskey; his nephews, Eric Moe and Robert Bentz; his niece Renee Dawn Jansen; and his great-niece Judith M. Carlson.
He is survived by: his wife DeLores Peskey; his children, Dean Royal (Charity) of Macon, GA, Paula Oakley (Paul) of St. Marys, GA, Joseph Peskey (Katie) of Freeman, Richele Royal of Huron and AJ Royal of Huron; his siblings, Deb Raether, Connie Bentz, Val Royal, Leon Rather, Greg Raether, Renee Evans, Patrick Raether, Karen Carter, Diane Turner, Marilynn Dostroph and James Jernigan; and his pet Rusty. He is also survived by ten grandchildren.
