Donald Benson Obituary
We are sad to announce that on January 14, 2025, at the age of 91, Donald Benson of Hurley, South Dakota passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Donald Benson to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Allen and Mary (Eckstein); and his brother Richard. He is survived by: his wife Dolores Wood; his children, James Benson of Hurley, S. D., Jackie Bogue (Doug) of Beresford, S. D. and Judith Donahoe of Sioux Falls, S. D.; his grandchildren, Justin Benson (Jocelyn), Elliot Benson, Maria VanderVelde (Chet), Katie Ceroll (Travis), Steven Bogue (Allison), Rebecka Docken (Ryan), Jessica Martinez (John), Bradford Bogue (Shelby), Jacob Donahoe, Joshua Donahoe (Mikaela) and Jeremiah Donahoe; and his sisters, Marilee Petersen of Sioux Falls, S. D. and Nancy Reiners of Hickman, NE. He is also survived by 23 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Zion Lutheran Church (700 Oregon Ave, Hurley, SD 57036). A prayer was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be directed to the Luther Classical College (LCMS) of Casper, WY or the Hurley Zion Lutheran Church.
