It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William Havelaar of Hudson, South Dakota, who passed away on February 7, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Case Havelaar and Dorothy Havelaar (George); his grandson Alexander Costa (Alex); and his brothers, Henry Havelaar (Hank), James Havelaar (Jim) and Fred Havelaar.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Scholl (Perry); his children, Lucinda Amy Rae Costa (Havelaar) of Sioux Falls, Jason Matthew Eie (Jake) of Montrose and Scott Allen Handel of Chamberlain; his siblings, John Havelaar of Marion, Pete Havelaar of Rockford, Casey Havelaar (Cindy) of Hudson and Ann Brown of Lennox; and his friends, Jose Sr., Mariela, Jose Jr., Sarai and Samantha Topete Lopez. He is also survived by four granddaughters; one great-grandson.
