He was predeceased by: his parents, John O'Dea and Edna Bennett O'Dea; his wife Vonnie Buchert; and his siblings, Dennis, Jack, Dean, Gene O'Dea, Bonna Hagler and Lorraine Smith.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sheryl Schweitzer of Gillette, WY, Susan O'Dea of Spearfish, SD and Holly Phillips (Doug) of Piedmont, SD; his grandchildren, Mary King (Kyle), Tonya Bunning (Nick), Rachel Olson (Andrew), Garrett Schweitzer (Alyssa), Amy Wilcox (Troy), Michael Deichert, Jamie Spiker (Dakota) and Paige Phillips; and his siblings, Phyllis Coleman of Philip, Maurine Hagler of Meredian, Lillian Deknikker (Eddie) of Gettysburg, Mary Bauer of Oregon, Rosella O'Bryan (Tom) of Bagley, MN, Jerry of Hot Springs, Leo of Hot Springs and Richard O'Dea of Hot Springs. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Philip Area Health Foundation and the Philip Ambulance Service.
