He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Cross and Emma Cross (Jacobs); his son Michael Harley; his granddaughter Shellynn Rae Fox; his siblings, Jessie, Darrell, Russell, Verlee, Deloris, Avenelle, Inez and Mosella; and his sisters-in-law, Marjorie and Betty.
He is survived by: his wife Mavis Ford of Madison, S. D.; and his children, David Mathew (Marla), Darlene Deborah (Richard), Alice Jean (Terry) and Peggy Cross. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and numerous friends and relatives.
