She was predeceased by: her parents, Emil Klepel and Iva Irene Klepel (Hemstock); her husband LeRoy Hemmer; her siblings, Charlotte O'Brien, Karen Farnsworth and Emil Klepel Jr.; her granddaughter Brandi Lueders (Wahl); and her son-in-law Lynn Cheeseman.
She is survived by: her children, Mary VanEmmerik (Bob) of Salem, Starr Cheeseman of Sioux Falls, Edna Jorgensen (Brian) of Colome, Dee Paige of Vermillion, Joe Hemmer (Colleen Healy) of Sioux Falls and Jodie Gluhm (Rodney) of Canova; and her sister Jean Thompson of Canton. She is also survived by her 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
