Herman E. Perry Obituary
Herman Eugene Perry, 78, a longtime area rancher from Hot Springs, died with his boots on, Thursday, October 26, 2017 at his home in Hot Springs. Herman was born, January 27, 1939 in Kilgore TX, to Wiley B and Opal (Price) Perry. In 1949, his family moved to Sydney, NE, then in 1960 He moved to Hot Springs, He married Lisa Schroth in 1963, and in 1969 the couple bought ½ interest in the 7-11 Ranch, Inc. where they worked and resided ever since.
Herman served in the National Guard in Nebraska and was a volunteer firefighter for 57 years. He was a great friend, Dad, husband, grandpa and was an even better great-grandpa. Herman is survived by his wife, Lisa Perry, Son, James Perry, and daughter, Theresa Perry, Hot Springs, granddaughters; Shelby Eckdahl (Aaron Christmann), Hot Springs, and Amanda Clark (Anthony Clark), Dickinson, ND, grandson, Monte Perry, great-grandchildren; Treyson, Karinna, and Cameron Walker, Dickinson ND, Syrenity Eckdahl and Christopher Christmann, Hot Springs, and his two best friends, Duane McClure and Klinton (Steph) Rittberger.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Rosemary Deeds and (Ouida) Dean Perry, and brother James of Texas.
Memorials may be sent to Kinkade Funeral Home or to the family at PO Box 124, Hot Springs, SD 57747. They will go to support the Wildland Firefighters Association.
