It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edwin Francis Madigan of Hot Springs, South Dakota, born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on January 9, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Francis P. Madigan. He is survived by: his wife Sally; his children, Edwin Jr., Brian and Rachel Bevis; his daughters-in-law, Katie (Edwin Jr.) and Sarah (Brian); his grandchildren, Dalton (Rachel), Jeffrey (Edwin Jr.), Erin (Edwin Jr.), AJ (Brian), Jake (Brian) and Elizabeth (Brian); his great grandchild Ally (Dalton); and his nephews, Dr. Mehdi Heravi and Ray Bishop. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces.
A vigil service was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church (538 University Ave, Hot Springs, SD 57747). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Black Hills National Cemetery (20901 Pleasant Valley Dr, Sturgis, SD 57785). A celebration of life was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the American Legion (1045 Jennings Ave, Hot Springs, SD 57747).
