He was predeceased by: his parents, Kasper Malsam and Margaret Malsam (Fischer, family: Hillsview, Paul); his wife Florence Malsam; his son Kasper Malsam; and his siblings, Jack Malsam, Pius Malsam, Matt Malsam, Henry Malsam, Maggie Geier and Tilly Salei.
He is survived by: his children, Judy Weishaar (Gary) of Hosmer, SD, Linda Battest of Aberdeen, SD, Tilly Heier (David) of Hosmer, Adam Malsam (Lauri) of Aberdeen, SD, Martha Kappenman (Damian) of Eureka, SD, Conrad Malsam (Jackie) of Hosmer, SD, Cathy Mohr (Don) of Huron, SD, Erv Malsam (Mary) of Aberdeen, SD and Sheila Malsam (Dave Hagen) of Aberdeen, SD; his daughter-in-law Dawn Malsam of Sioux Falls, SD; and his sister-in-law Marion Malsam of Aberdeen, SD. He is also survived by 30 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
