He is survived by: his wife Dawn Emeny; his children, Jennifer VanPeursem (Brandon), Hayden, Grayson and April Nelsen (Aaron); his grandchildren, Kaeley, Julia, Mark and Chloe; his daughter Carly Malsam; his grandchild Tori; his siblings, Judy Weishaar (Gary), Linda Battest, Tilly Heier (David), Adam Malsam (Lauri), Martha Kappenman (Damian), Conrad Malsam (Jackie), Cathy Mohr (Don), Erv Malsam (Mary) and Sheila Malsam (Dave Hagen); his siblings-in-law, Scott Emeny (Paula) and Connie Markel (Michael); his nephews, Michael Markel (Ashley) and Benjamin Markel (Mette); and also Emma.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be sent to The Ransom Church, Sioux Falls for future designation to the ministries of Ransom Recovery, Safe Families for Children, and The Glory House.
