It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Duane Edgar Gaulke of Hill City, South Dakota, who passed away on February 2, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Gaulke (Bud) and Gladys Gaulke (Nelson); his grandparents, Gus and Laura; his brother-in-law John Crater; his nieces, Dawn Crater Bult and Barbara Gaulke (Bobbi Jean); and his great-nephew Dustin Wee.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret; his children, Duane Jr. Gaulke (DJ) and Jill Castle; his grandchildren, Jackson Caffee, Westin Gaulke and Kaia Castle; and his siblings, David Gaulke (Judy) and Alice Crater.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home (234 N 6th St, Custer, SD 57730). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
A memorial fund has been established to support the family.
