It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Les Ashdown (Highmore, South Dakota), who passed away on May 5, 2020, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Ashdown and Sadie Ashdown (Hale); his siblings, Hugh, Glen, Carl Ashdown and Ruth Robertson; his son Patrick Hale; his daughter-in-law Billie Hale; and his siblings-in-law, Wayne Hamlin, Myron Hamlin (Jack), Leonard Hamlin and Izzy Hamlin.
He is survived by: his sons, Prentice, Dickson and Roman; his wife Elaine Ashdown (Hale); his children, Peggy Fausett (Craig) of Highmore, SD, Allan Hale and Robert Hale (Lesley); his grandchildren, Heath Hale (Danelle) of Highmore, SD, Amy Gebhard (Jason), Fredel Thomas (Jason), Andrew Fausett (Becky), Steve Hale (Jenna), Laine Weerheim (Corey), Brady Hale and Lindsey Hale; his great grandchildren, Kassie, Dawson Hale, Caleb, Levi Gebhard, Jalen, Verity, Truin, Wakiya Thomas, Isaac, Elijah Fausett, Griffin, Porter, Murphy Hale and Billie Weerheim; his sister Ethel Gusaas of Valley City, ND; and his siblings-in-law, Lilly Ashdown of Highmore, SD, Leona Hamlin, Ruth Hamlin, Eunice Hamlin and Dick Hamlin of Highmore, SD. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, a private family funeral service will be 10:30 a. m., Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at the Church of Christ in Highmore with Pastor Jeffry McKean officiating.
