She was predeceased by: her parents, Cort Vaughn and Harriet Martha Vaughn (Hutchinson); her husbands, Gerald McGirr and Melvin Boschee; and her brothers, Robert and Vincent.
She is survived by: her daughters, H. LaVaughn Busse (Jan) of Highmore and Kay Cady (Tom) of Wayzata, MN; her sister Joan Gross of San Rafael, CA; her grandchildren, H. Lisa Haverly (Jason), Stephanie Kittleson (Doug), Amanda Joan Gesme (Jayson), Danika Johnson (Jesse), Miles Cady (Katie) and Mitchell Cady (Kristi); and her great grandchildren, William, Addisu, Caleb, Elijah, H. Lyla, Lars, Liv, Julia, Alice, Grace, Claire and Harriet.
She was one of the founders of the Hyde County Scholarship Foundation and believed that education was the best medicine.
