He is survived by: his children, Jared Simmons (Dusty) of Mandan, ND, Abby Hofer (Matt) of Fulton, SD, Casaundra Bolon of Columbus, OH, Elizabeth Knoll of Fargo, ND and Marley Roehrich (Josh) of Bismarck, ND; his grandchildren, Kira, Hudson, Emma Simmons, Payton, Jayden, Nash, Vayda, Austyn, Orlen Hofer, Vincent Bolon, Arlo and Casper Roehrich; and his siblings, Leonard Hilsendeger (Mary Jane), Mike Hilsendeger (Lori), John Hilsendeger (Gladys) and Gloria Hilsendeger (Don Braunagel). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
