He was predeceased by: his parents, Sidney Cuny and Nellie Cuny (Yeager); his grandparents, Charles and Mabel Cuny; his son Matthew Cuny; his aunts and uncles, Freda Yeager, Edna Matren, Ruth Valsquez, Hester McGaa, Alta, Jess Cuny, Bill Cuny and Pat Cuny; his brother-in-law Don Buffington; his brother Tommy Cuny; and his niece Tommie Rae Cuny.
He is survived by: his girlfriend Mary Steele (Minnie) of Hermosa, SD; his children, Jody Twiss of Martin, SD, Julie Yellow Cloud (Roger) of Porcupine, SD., Jeannie Cuny of Pine Ridge, SD., Thetna Weston (Lionel) of Porcupine, SD., Dena Hixon (Mark) of Gilbert, AZ., Marvin Ray Cuny Jr. (Alyssa) of Hermosa, SD., Becky Armendariz (Ray) of Hermosa, SD, Wiley Barington Steele (Kassi) of Mitchell, SD. and Sheena Swan (Wes) of Mitchell, SD.; his siblings, Dave Cuny (Carole) of Cuny Table, SD., Sandra Buffington of Red Shirt, SD. and Allen Cuny (Janie) of Cuny Table, SD.; his daughter-in-law Heather Cuny; and his aunt Mary McGaa of Hermosa, SD.. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
