He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Kasten and Elizabeth Kasten (Aderhold); his son Chuck; and his brother Milton (Virginia). He is survived by: his wife Peggy Iverson; his children, Kathy (Gene), Charles, Rick Kasten (Lee) of Hayti, SD, Jody Niemann of Windsor, CO and Walker of Norfolk, NE; and his siblings-in-law, Jean Bush (Bob), Janet Sandbakken (Rob) and Alan Shindledecker.
