He was predeceased by: his parents, Galen West and Helen West (Cushman); his brothers, Roger West, Dennis West, David West and Alton West; his parents-in-law, Robert and Ruth Olson; and his siblings-in-law, Russell Olson, Darrel Baker, Bob Nichols, Roylin Hall and Lorrie Stricherz.
He is survived by: his wife Karla Olson; his children, Lynn Tyree (Stan) of Sioux Falls, SD, William West (Naomi) of Greer, SC, Marcie Decker (George) of Watertown, SD, Michelle Lear (Jimmy) of Sioux Falls, SD, Nathan West (Lindsey) of Hayti, SD and Aaron West of Watertown, SD; his siblings, Norman Joe West (Barb), Wesley West (Joyce), Steven West, Marjorie Baker, Mary Pester, Martha Hilman (Conrad) and Anita Levijoki (Paul); and his sisters-in-law, Betty West, Marlys West, Lori West, Bonnie Nichols, Kim Marotz (Mark) and Robin Hall. He is also survived by twenty two grandchildren; twenty three great-grandchildren.
