He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Kroeger and Augusta Kroeger (Jordan); his son Glen; his siblings, Lawrence, Arthur, Marvin, Eldon, Edna Shumaker, Clare Hoeck, Gladys Rehder and Eunice Crittenden; and his grandson-in-law Wayne Hoff.
He is survived by: his wife Jean; his children, Chris Kroeger (Vanessa) and Linda Albers (Bryan); his grandchildren, Samantha Meirose (Chad), Josh Kroeger (Amanda), Jesse Kroeger (Tiffany), Kyle, Chase Albers and BreeAnn Evans (Daniel); and his great grandchildren, Ryan, Eloise, Emerson, Clara Kroeger, Landen Holewa, Kian Kroeger, Trace and Mya Evans.
Ernie had a dream of a Veteran's memorial in Hartford, with volunteer help of the Hartford Community donations, that dream came true.
