He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Carls and Clara Carls (Muchow); his sister Clarabelle; his brother-in-law Roy Beck; and his parents-in-law, Joe and Ethel Monson.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Monson; his daughters, Mary Jo Graves (Travis) of Brandon, Darlene Kueter (Tim) of Humboldt and Lisa O'Neill II (Jack) of Hartford; his grandchildren, Ethan Kueter, Hayden Kueter, Taylor O'Neill and Jack O'Neill III; his brother Roger Carls (Bert) of Hartford; his sister-in-law Jean Smith (Don) of Centerville; and his nieces and nephews, Roger Beck, Jason Carls, Stacy VanWesten and Kimberly Brick.
