He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard "Bunny" McCoy and Margie McCoy (O'Hara); his son Mark McCoy; his siblings, Bud, Sal, Tom, Bill McCoy and Dode Kortman; and his parents-in-law, Clifford and Marion Lawrence.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara Lawrence of Hartford; his sons, Tom (Jan) of Sioux Falls, Scott (Brenda) of Montrose, SD and Jim (Dawn Koenig) of Tea, SD; his daughter-in-law Patti McCoy of Puyallup, WA; his grandchildren, Bryce McCoy (Chelsea), Makenzie Minga (Dustin), Nicole Siemonsma (Earl), Brandan McCoy (Mandy), Tyler McCoy (Chantelle), Kylie Brady (Jeremy), Jarvis McCoy (Meggie), Megan Grisham (Matt) and Marissa Runge (Joe); his great grandchildren, Walker McCoy, Mason Minga, Easton, Nariah Siemonsma, Carter, Piper McCoy, Tayrek, Tyce, Khaleesi McCoy, Cole, Madisyn, Cutler Brady, Malcom, Wrenner McCoy, McCoy Grisham, Cooper and Brinley Runge; his siblings, Cecil McCoy (Eileen) of Sioux Falls and Mary Hartle (Ken) of Humboldt, SD; and his siblings-in-law, Bev Earley (Bill) of Sioux Falls and Clifford Lawrence (Patty) of Kaukauna, WI.
