He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Brueggeman (Pat) and Kunie Brueggeman (Oligumueller); and his nephew Kip Brueggeman. He is survived by: his wife Sharon; his children, Karen Sundermann (Brian) of Canistota, SD, Sheila Brown (Chase) of Hartford, SD and Cheryl Bergeson (Travis) of Lake City, SD; his grandchildren, Brooklyn, Kelsey, Breauna Sundermann, Callie, Crix Brown, Isaac and Lucas Bergeson; and his siblings, Kenny Brueggeman (Connie) of Highmore, SD, Ronnie Brueggeman (Suzi) of Miller, SD, Susan Walker (Jerry) of Watertown, SD, Melvin Brueggeman (Debbie) of Miller, SD and Terry Brueggeman (Pam) of Marshalltown, IA. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
