She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob L. Markus and Jennie Markus (Doorn); her husband Lyle "Dean" Plooster; her daughter Karla Peter; and her brothers, Milford and Dennis Markus.

She is survived by: her children, Roger Plooster (Denise) of Sioux Falls, SD, Douglas Plooster (Sherryl) of Harrison, SD and Rhonda Priola of Dell Rapids, SD; her son-in-law Louis Peter of Dell Rapids, SD; her sister Nona Markus of Mitchell, SD; and her sisters-in-law, Arlene Plooster of Corsica, SD, Doris Markus of Corsica, SD and Dorothy Markus of Chamberlain, SD.. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren.
