He is survived by: his children, Cindy Kuss (Brian) of Seward, Nebraska, Cheryl Droll (Brent) of Worthington, Minnesota, Chad Soukup (Emmy) of Sioux Falls and Chris Soukup (Kelsey) of Lennox; his brother Carl (Marietta); and his siblings-in-law, Judy Potts (Vern), Betty Dreesen (Chuck), Russ Kingsley, Randy Kathol (Jane), Galen Kathol (Doree), Lou Ann Dendinger (Terry), Jeff Kathol, Todd Kathol (Suzanne) and Jill Belt (Randy). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 at 4:00 PM at the Shalom Lutheran Church (1000 E Maple St, Harrisburg, SD 57032). A rosary was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 at 5:30 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
