With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gary Eugene Jones (Harrisburg, South Dakota), born in Howard, South Dakota, who passed away on January 31, 2023 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Elwyn and Vivian; his grandson Benjamin Aaron Jones; and his brother-in-law Duane Story. He is survived by: his wife Delores Carol Schaaf; his children, Kristina Mae Jones, Wendy Marie Jones (Jackson), Aaron Paul Jones (Julie) and Matthew Eugene Jones; his siblings, Bill (Rhonda), Alan (Linda), Cathi Story (Duane) and Mary Jones; and his grandchildren, Elizabeth Jones, Chayden Carpenter (Haylie Peters), Jace Jones, Angela King, Daishia Jackson, KyRaya Gill, Antonio Jackson Jr., Kiya Jackson, Rhonda Jackson, Maggie Jones and Abbie Jones. He is also survived by his seventeen great grandchildren.
He was especially proud of his service in the Navy, his contributions to Experience Works, where he contributed to helping seniors provide other employers with their unique and valuable skillsets, and his Associates of Arts Degree in Electrical Engineering which led to his computer and information technology careers.
