With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gary Heitmann of Groton, South Dakota, born in Britton, South Dakota, who passed away on January 1, 2021 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Heitmann and Mary Alice Heitmann (Witham); and his parents-in-law, Ed and Betty Jean Hagen. He is survived by: his wife Caralee of Groton; his sons, Grady Heitmann (Bobbi Jo) of Faulkton, Greg Heitmann (Angela Sandoval) of Santa Fe and Garrett Heitmann (Sindi) of Snoqualmie; his grandchildren, Kristen Dykema (Taylor), Kaitlin Bunkers (Colby), Derek Heitmann, Shayna Heitmann, Estevan Sandoval, Catalina Sandoval, Antonio Heitmann and Alejandra Heitmann; his great grandchild Oaklee Bunkers; and his siblings, Gay Heitmann of Lake City, Linda Reierson of Minot, ND and David Heitmann (Susan) of Lake City.
